DEUTSCHE BUNDESBAHN DIN 6700-2!!

Merc Engineering UK Ltd recently launched a new PRECISION WELDING department to further enhance their list of engineering services on offer. As Merc's CNC machining department serves aerospace, defence, power generation, railway and commercial sectors, the new sub-contract welding department provides us with the vital leading edge, helping to serve customers such as BAE Systems and Rolls Royce.

Following the receipt of substantial orders for the German railway industry, the welding arm of Merc Engineering has evolved into a department in its own right. Merc now have a quality system in place conforming to both EN729-2 and DIN 6700-2, allowing Merc to manufacture components and assemblies to critical Deutsche Bundesbahn C2 standards (railway vehicle parts with a high safety significance).

Utilising high quality Lorch V welders, with High Frequency Ignition, water cooled torches and databased digital controls, your quality requirements will be met every single time. Furthermore, Merc have retained the services of a Certified European Welding Engineer, who is available to supervise the welding and release of all components that require a high level of release.

Prior to manufacture, contract review is carried out, followed by Weld Planning Sheets, Weld Procedure Sheets (WPS) in order to map out the complete production of an item, allowing for distortion, joint preparation and inter-stage stress relieving… all our welders are qualified to EN287 and DIN standards and our procedures ensure that a stringent level of quality is achieved EVERY SINGLE TIME
